Sajid Khan says 'arrogance' destroyed his career; Sona Mohapatra calls 'Bigg Boss 16' makers 'depraved'
Khan entered the 'Bigg Boss' house on Saturday.

In the wake of the #MeToo movement in 2018, nine women (Sherlyn Chopra, Jiah Khan, Saloni Chopra, Racheal White, Mandana Karimi, Simran Suri, Aahana Kumra, Dimple Paul and journalist Karishma Upadhyaya) from the industry - who worked with Khan on his various projects - had accused the film-maker of sexually harassing them. He also faced a year-long suspension from the Indian Film and Television Directors' Association.
He was accused of flashing his private parts at parties, asking actresses to send him their nude pictures as part of the casting process and watching porn in women's presence.
Amid the 2018 controversy, Khan decided to take a 'moral responsibility of stepping down' from his directorial post of 'Houseful 4'. The directorial responsibilities were handed over to film-maker Farhad Samji. He also said that he decided because 'pressure' was being put on his family.

At the 'Bigg Boss 16' grand premiere, the 51-year-old shared that his arrogance destroyed his career. "After giving back-to-back three hits, I became very arrogant. I thought I had become infallible and can never make a wrong film. I started giving out arrogant statements. God slapped me hard and 'Himmatwala' did not do well. I became a little humble but I again got slapped and 'Humshakals' did not work. After that, I hid my face from people. I started writing 'Housefull 4' and directed the film half. Till the night, I was working on the film, and by the morning, I was out of the film. My credit for the film was taken away from me. I just felt this is all God's way of telling me that you have to become a nicer person," he was quoted as saying at the premiere.
He added that he has seen 'many ups and downs' in his life and 'been very low in the past four years'.
Meanwhile, playback singer Sona Mohapatra expressed her disappointment after Khan - the younger brother of Bollywood film-maker and choreographer Farah Khan - was brought back as a contestant in the controversial reality TV show, hosted by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. She called the TV channels and executives 'depraved and sad'.
