Saina Nehwal, Parupalli Kashyap's wedding invite goes viral; reception to be held at Novotel Hyderabad

The wedding is expected to be a private affair with only family and close friends in attendance.

The players, who have reportedly been dating for a decade, met at coach Pullela Gopichand's badminton academy in 2005 where they trained together.

'Tis winter, and it's the wedding season for Indian celebrities. From Deepika-Ranveer sealing their love to Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas doing a multi-cultural wedding to Ambani heiress Isha making it official with beau Anand Piramal, it's nuptials galore.

And now Indian shuttlers Saina Nehwal and beau Parupalli Kashyap have joined the wedding line-up as well.

The badminton champions had earlier confirmed that they will take their vows on December 16, and now the wedding invitation has gone viral on social media.

Two versions of the invite have been doing the rounds on Twitter. The first one - a pink card - is from Nehwal's parents for the wedding reception at Hyderabad's Novotel hotel from 6:30 pm onwards.

The other version is a beige and red card from Nehwal and Kashyap inviting guests to celebrate with them at the same venue from 7 pm onwards.

The wedding ceremony is expected to be a private affair with only about 100 people, however the reception is likely to be a glittering affair with sport stars in attendance.

32-year-old Kashyap, an Arjuna Awardee, hails from Hyderabad and created history by becoming the first Indian to reach the men's singles quarterfinals at the 2012 London Olympics. While 28-year-old Nehwal, one of India's shuttle superstar, has won 20 major titles, an Olympic bronze and a silver at the World Championships.

This marriage will mark another chapter in recent Indian sporting matches after those of Dipika Pallikal-Dinesh Karthik, Ishant Sharma-Pratima Singh and wrestlers, Geeta Phogat-Pawan Kumar and Sakshi Malik-Satyawart Kadian.
