Saif Ali Khan recently made his Instagram debut, delighting fans. Now, he has been sharing glimpses of his daily life on the platform. Saif’s Pataudi Palace, spread across 10 acres of land, often finds a mention in his posts. The lavish property, built in 1935, is situated about 30 kms from Gurugram. The palace was constructed by the last ruling Nawab of Pataudi, Iftikhar Ali Khan, for his wife. According to reports, the property was leased to the Neemrana Hotels group in 2005, but Saif bought it back for a whopping Rs 800 crores after the death of his father, Nawab Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi.

With expansive lawns, a dedicated farm area, and swimming pools, Pataudi Palace is a symbol of royalty. As per Architectural Digest, the place has as many as 150 rooms, including 7 bedrooms, 7 dressing rooms, 7 billiard rooms, and spacious dining and drawing rooms.

Architect Robert Tor Russell, who has given Pataudi Palace a makeover, has infused clean lines and geometric patterns, reminiscent of the European neoclassical style. Traditional floral motifs reflect Indian heritage while framed photographs of the royal family add a personal touch to the interiors.

The vast corridors boast chequered black-and-white marble flooring, as per Magic Bricks, and the walls are painted in soft shades of yellow, white, cream and pastels. There’s also a vintage library, as recently seen in one of Saif’s Instagram posts, where the actor loves to spend his quiet afternoons.

Salient features of Pataudi Palace

Crystal chandeliers, lamps, vases and warm lighting illuminate the dining area. Meanwhile, potted plants in every corner double the allure. The bedroom, on the other hand, screams regal from miles away with master beds, wooden flooring, ornate heritage, antique decor and hand-crafted furniture.

But one of the most eye-catching elements of the Pataudi Palace is the Sanchi Stupa-inspired dome held up by columned pillars, high-ceilinged verandas, parquet floors and pink Venetian chandeliers. In a 2021 interview with Forbes, Saif revealed that his favourite spot is an open chhabutra in the middle of the palace where you get unobstructed views of the moon.
