Sachin Tendulkar resolves dispute with neighbour over noise pollution!

While he may be a ‘God’ on the cricket pitch, cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar appeared to be a less-than-ideal neighbour! Dilip D’Souza, a neighbour to the veteran cricketer, created quite a furour on social media when we revealed on X that Tendulkar had caused quite a bit of commotion as there was some construction work going on in his Bandra apartment. The journalist requested the icon to limit construction work to “reasonable hours..”

“Dear @sachin_rt, it's nearly 9 pm and the cement mixer that's been outside your Bandra home all day making a loud noise is still there, still making a loud noise. Please could you ask the people working on your home to stick to reasonable hours? Thank you so much….” he wrote.

The post went viral gaining almost 600K views and 4.5K likes.

Twitter Reacts To Sachin’s Loud Construction Activities

Reacting to the post, one X user wrote, “If u want any work done in this godforsaken country use Twitter. It is better than our police and judiciary combined…” “Attention seeking at old age is avoidable. Ppl expect their neighbors not to do construction during that time? Entitled jealous lot being pampered in the name of minority feels defeated when their bullying is ignored..” quipped another.

Another user wrote, “This is a nuisance. Govt should prohibit construction work after 8 pm in residential areas.”

All Well That Ends Well

However, the problem was also resolved rather peacefully. D’Souza later revealed that he had received a call from Tendulkar’s spokesperson and they apologised for the noise pollution.

“As a follow-up, I got a very gracious call this afternoon from someone at the office of @sachin_rt. He explained their constraints and the efforts they are making to keep noise to a minimum and gave me a patient hearing. Far more than I can say about the other noisemakers here…” he quipped.
