The platform confirmed the release through an official update shared online.While announcing the OTT release, the team wrote, “Truth, justice, and a story that demands to be seen. S. Saraswathi on Prime.” The film is now available for subscribers, making it easier for viewers to watch it at home.
A story built around a mother’s search
At its core, S Saraswathi is a crime thriller that follows the journey of a mother trying to find her missing daughter. The story revolves around Lakshmi, a nurse who lives with her young child Saraswathi. Things take a sudden turn when one day, after dropping her daughter at school, she returns only to be told that no such student exists there.This moment becomes the turning point. What follows is a tense search filled with confusion, fear, and questions. As Lakshmi tries to understand what happened, the film mixes investigation with emotional drama. The narrative leans into psychological elements as well, though some viewers felt parts of the story became predictable early on.
Cast and crew behind the film
The film features a long list of known faces apart from Varalaxmi. The cast includes Prakash Raj, Priyamani, Kishore, Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, Radikaa Sarathkumar, and Nassar among others in key roles.One of the main highlights of the project is that it marks Varalaxmi Sarathkumar’s debut as a director. She has also co-produced the film, making it a personal project in many ways. The story has been written by Sai Madhav Burra, while production backing came under the Dosa Diaries banner, supported by her sister Pooja Sarathkumar. Anthony Praveen Daniel served as the executive producer.
On the technical side, the music has been composed by S Thaman, with cinematography handled by AM Edwin Sakay and editing by Venkat Raajen. The art direction was done by Sudheer Macharla.
