Runaya Refining CEO Annanya Agarwal's success tip: Combine parents' wisdom with innovative ideas

‘The newer, the better’ is probably what defines the mantra of young bosses today. But here’s one CEO who sees as much merit in tradition as he does in innovative ideas.

Annanya Agarwal, the CEO of Runaya Refining and the nephew of Vedanta Group’s Anil Agarwal, may have charted his own path in business, but he says not all old ways of doing business should be done away with. “Our parents and grandparents’ wisdom should not be looked at as being old school or yesterday’s way of working. In fact, we can learn a lot from it,” he says.

While Agarwal says that there’s no doubt that some traditional ideas, which is backed by science dating back thousands of years, need to be revamped, “absorbing all of that wisdom and knowledge” will help out in the long run.
