A young doctor from Bengaluru recently lamented that finding a good affordable home in the city may be a fool's dream
It is not easy to rent or buy a flat in Bengaluru. Taking to Instagram, a doctor called Nehal Pasha explained that it is so difficult to find a home in Bengaluru. He ranted angrily about why a plain 1BHK flat in Bengaluru costs a whopping Rs 35,000 per month. “Am I Narayan Murthy’s son?” he quipped. He also revealed that this price is greater than that of 2BHK flats. He also poked fun at landlords, saying they have water from the Kaveri. “There won’t be water from the Nile River and the Amazon, obviously!” he said. “Did you fail geography class?” he quipped. The doctor also called out landlords for overreacting when he asked about balconies: “Why are you reacting as if I am asking a flat in Burj Khalifa?” He then explained that balconies are not a luxury amenity and tenants would need a space to dry their clothes. He also criticised the landlords for claiming the metro is only 5 minutes from the house, hinting in most cases these are very exaggerated claims. “Biggest lie. The metro is five minutes by plane, not via walking!” he said.

He also called out the real estate agents’ tendency to send him homes that are not in Bengaluru but in far-out areas like Whitefield. ‘Tomorrow you will send me a flat in Mysore and claim it is from Bangalore!” He also humorously quipped that there is more space in his future grave than the rooms the flats have. He also criticised the brokers for demanding brokerage and also rent for 10 months in advance. “I will go broke, “ joked. “I only have money for rent. If I give you money, how will I arrange money for a sofa, bed, furniture, etc?”

For anyone familiar with Bengaluru’s bustling Instagram culture, Nehal Pasha needs little introduction. The 25-year-old content creator has carved out a distinctive space with his witty, wholesome videos in Bengaluru Dakhni, winning audiences with relatable humour and a warm celebration of everyday life. But social media is only one part of his story. Alongside creating content, Nehal is training to become a doctor and is working on an ambitious idea aimed at improving access to medical assistance. In an engaging conversation, the young creator reflects on his journey so far, the pride he takes in showcasing his roots, his growing popularity online, and the unexpected reason he chose to turn down an opportunity to appear in Mirzapur 4.
