Rs 2 lakh monthly expenses, no work after 5 pm, peaceful weekends: Indian man compares how life in Poland differs from India
An Indian man living in Warsaw, Poland, has gone viral for detailing his affordable lifestyle. His monthly expenses, totaling around Rs 2 lakhs, cover rent, groceries, recreation, and household help. Beyond finances, he highlights Poland's strong ...

Poland monthly cost explained
The man revealed that he lives with his partner in Warsaw and leads what most would call a ‘comfortable lifestyle’. He admitted their biggest expense stems from their choice of location, living right in the city center, which means that rent and utilities cost about 4,500 PLN every month.
To balance things out, the couple mostly cooks meals at home, keeping their grocery bills at a modest 800 PLN. However, they do not hold back on enjoying their weekends. Between shopping sprees, dining out, and playing squash, they allocate around 1,500 PLN each month to recreation.
Since both of them work full-time, they have hired a house help, who comes weekly, and it costs them 800 PLN a month. Navigating Warsaw adds another 400 PLN for public transport and cabs, while salon visits and small miscellaneous shopping trips tack on a final 500 PLN. All in, their total monthly expenditure sits at around 8,500 PLN, which translates to just over Rs 2 lakhs.
Additional perks of living in Poland
In a striking contrast to the competitive corporate ladder often seen in India, the man even witnessed colleagues turning down promotions just to protect their mental peace and personal time, redefining what true success actually means. In brief, life in Poland, as explained by the man, was all about work-life balance, spending time with family and friends and looking forward to peaceful weekends.
