Social media personality Faizan Ansari has initiated a massive defamation lawsuit worth Rs 100 crore against actor Khushi Mukherjee, with the case being filed on January 13. This move follows statements made by Mukherjee regarding Indian T20 international team captain Suryakumar Yadav, which Ansari claims are untrue and harmful. In an earlier media interaction, Mukherjee suggested that the cricketer frequently contacted her, a remark that quickly triggered controversy.

Ansari, a Mumbai-based influencer, responded by submitting a formal complaint at the Ghazipur police station, asserting that the comments were fabricated and capable of damaging the image of a prominent sportsperson. To ensure legal proceedings moved forward, he personally travelled from Mumbai to Ghazipur to push for the registration of a formal police case.

Ansari has alleged that Mukherjee intentionally made these remarks to gain attention, arguing that such statements could seriously tarnish the credibility of a nationally respected athlete. He has urged authorities to take firm action against the actress and has even sought a prison sentence of no less than seven years if the allegations are found to be baseless.


Addressing the media, Ansari emphasized his determination to see the matter through, stating that he has already submitted a detailed written complaint requesting immediate legal action. He highlighted his large social media reach, noting that millions follow his online presence, and claimed it was his duty to amplify the issue until justice is achieved. He also made it clear that he intends to remain in Ghazipur until official action is initiated, regardless of the challenges involved.

Explaining the scale of the lawsuit, Ansari stated that the Rs 100 crore defamation claim was filed after careful consideration, adding that his legal representatives are well-prepared and experienced. He referenced a previous high-profile defamation case filed by his team to underline their seriousness. Ansari further remarked that if Mukherjee can substantiate her claims with proof, he would openly acknowledge his error. Until such evidence is presented, he has appealed to the public across cities and regions to stand in solidarity with Suryakumar Yadav, whom he believes is being targeted through a deliberate attempt to undermine his reputation.

The controversy began when Mukherjee, during a public appearance, made comments while responding to a question about dating cricketers. She indicated that several players had shown interest in her and mentioned Suryakumar Yadav in that context, while also stressing that no romantic involvement ever existed. As backlash intensified, the actress later clarified her position in a media interview, asserting that her words were misinterpreted and blown out of proportion.

She maintained that any past communication with the cricketer was purely friendly and limited, adding that they have not been in contact for a long time, including after the issue erupted. Mukherjee also claimed her social media account had been compromised and extended her support and good wishes to Team India and its captain ahead of the upcoming World Cup, reiterating that earlier interactions occurred casually after a match loss and carried no personal intent.
