Akshay Kumar has enjoyed a career spanning more than three decades. In his long career, he had experienced the highest of the highs and lowest of the lows. In a candid chat with ABP News, the ‘Singh Is King’ star revealed how he was given a much smaller room than his co-star in one of the films he appeared in.

The actor shared that, in the early days of his career, the treatment he received often shifted based on the success of his films. If a movie performed well, he would be given luxurious presidential suites or, at times, slightly smaller but still grand vice-presidential rooms. However, when his projects failed to impress, he would have to make do with standard accommodations. He clarified that such fluctuations no longer affect him today, but they were a significant part of his initial journey in the industry.

Refusing to name the film or the co-star, Akshay revealed, “It was two-hero film. He got an enormous, luxurious room as his last film was a blockbuster. I was given a smaller room. Then I realised it was because my films didn’t succeed.”

Akshay added that he had learned to taken such things in his stride. “That is life,” he admitted. However, he admitted that not all producers discriminate among co-stars based on the performance of their last film.

When quizzed if he complained about getting a smaller room in comparison to his co-star, the ‘Khiladi’ said, “It was a big deal to be even getting a room. I once had to share a room with 24 people.” He then went on to reveal when he was a kid, living in Chandni Chawk, he and his extended family used to live in a single room. “We didn’t have a big home.”

On the work front, Akshay recently appeared in a legal comedy drama, ‘Jolly LLB 3,’ along with Arshad Warsi. He will next appear in the Priyadarsan-directed horror comedy ‘Bhoot Bangla.’ The movie will also feature other illustrious actors such as Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Wamiqa Gabbi, Rajpal Yadav, etc. Kumar and Priyadarshan have delivered many iconic films, such as the Hera Pheri franchise, Garam Masala, etc.
