Rolls-Royce Power System CEO learnt 'Make In India' lesson from his debut trip to Mumbai

And a year on, that's a lesson that has stayed with Andreas Schell.

When the CEO of Rolls-Royce Power System (not to be confused with the car-maker), Andreas Schell, came visiting India last month, he only had nice things to say about the opportunities here.

But he had a disclaimer — India works as a good market if you change your approach according to the local business. He said this thanks to some homework. When Schell took over as CEO in late 2016, his first overseas business trip was to India.

“I came here in January 2017 on a ‘finding trip’. I feel India is a country full of opportunities. It is a growing economy. It was very clear to me that we needed to change our approach if we are doing business in India,” he said.
