Rohan Murty responds to online petition to oust American Indologist Sheldon Pollock

Rohan Murty responded sharply to a recent online petition that was signed by 132 academics and public fi gures seeking to oust American Indologist Sheldon Pollock, who is editor of the Murty Classical Library of India. In defence of Pollock, Murty was quoted as saying:

"It is quite rich to sit in the peanut gallery, pass comments and throw empty shells at those who are actually rolling their sleeves up and working on the ground."
