Robin Van Persie finally meets crying four-year-old Man U super-fan Louis Diamond

Football club Fenerbahce in Turkey have paid for a four-year-old Manchester United fan, Louis Diamond, to meet his hero Robin van Persie whose exit from the English club this summer had devastated the young fan.

Turns out, it is not 'just a game' for Louis Diamond.

A video that showed the young boy sobbing relentlessly after the Dutchman's departure from United was posted online by his father Sam Diamond on July 10 on Twitter and it went viral.

Fenerbahce fans saw the video and 'started an online campaign to raise $2000'. As luck would have it, the video of the little Red devil reached Aziz Yildirim, the president at RVP's new club. The club then offered to pay for his trip to Istanbul to meet his hero and watch him in action.



On Friday, Diamond had a meltdown of sorts when he got to see Fenerbahce's 2-0 Turkish Super Lig victory over Eskisehirspor and also meet his hero after the match. RVP then posted a picture of his meeting with the special young fan on his Instagram account.

In just the two seasons that RVP had spent at 'The Theatre of Dreams' after being signed by Sir Alex Fergusson in 2012, he became a regular goal-scorer and a crucial team-member.

However, with Dutch-compatriot Louis Van Gaal becoming the club manager and successive injuries for Robin limiting his first-team opportunities, RVP's illustrious cameo at Old Trafford came to a conclusion after scoring 48 goals in 86 appearances.
