Robert Downey Jr to produce series based on Michael Crichton's novel 'Sphere'
'Westworld' executive producer Denise Thé is on board as showrunner and writer.

Robert Downey Jr and Susan Downey's Team Downey and Kilter Film are producing the series in association with Warner Bros. Television.
LOS ANGELES: HBO is developing a sci-fi series based on American author Michael Crichton's 1987 novel "Sphere", with "Westworld" executive producer Denise Thé on board as showrunner and writer. According to Deadline, Denise will also serve as producer on the series.
"Westworld" creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy's Kilter Film and Robert Downey Jr and Susan Downey's Team Downey, are producing the series in association with Warner Bros. Television.
'Sphere' has been previously adapted into a film in 1998.
Nolan, Joy and Athena Wickham are attached as executive producers, alongside Robert Downey Jr, Susan Downey and Amanda Burrell.
"'Sphere' plunges the audience one thousand feet into the ocean, where a group of scientists confronts the surreal, beautiful, and deadly mysteries of the universe, only to find the people closest to us may prove to be the most alien," the plotline reads.
"Sphere" has been previously adapted into a film in 1998. The movie, directed by Barry Levinson, featured Dustin Hoffman, Sharon Stone and Samuel L Jackson.

Director Mahesh Bhatt has decided to release 'Sadak 2' on Disney+ Hotstar on August 28. The Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapoor-starrer, which will see Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt reprising their characters, is a sequel 1991 crime drama of the same name.
