So happy to be returning to India: Katy Perry announces debut Mumbai performance
It will be a buzzing November in Mumbai, as pop-star Katy Perry is all set to hold her debut performance in the city of dreams.

The 'Con Calma' hitmaker, on Wednesday, took to Twitter to announce the news. Perry will perform in the city on November 16 as part of the OnePlus Music Festival.

The singer, who has earlier performed in India at the opening ceremony of the Indian Premier League in 2012 in Chennai, tweeted, "I am so happy to be returning to India and excited to headline my first-ever performance in Mumbai. I am looking forward to seeing and singing with all of my Indian KatyCats at the OnePlus Music Festival."

The festival is being described as the merger between "the energy of music and the power of technology to bring out an immersive experience." Curated by smartphone maker OnePlus, it will be held at the DY Patil Stadium.

Perry has had an old connection with India, and had tied the knot with actor-comic Russell Brand in 2010 in a lavish ceremony in Rajasthan. The couple got divorced after two years.

Chance the Rapper

Last year, the Grammy-winning artist personally donated $1 million to support arts and enrichment programming in Chicago public schools. The rapper also pledged $10,000 from his charity for every $100,000 raised, after a meeting with the Illinois Governor to discuss funding education in Chicago proved unfruitful. This is not the first time the rapper has advocated for public education. In 2015, along with other music artistes like Ludacris and Christina Milian, he helped raise $100,000 for the city’s public schools through the Get Schooled Program.
