Amalner in Maharashtra's Jalgaon district is said to be the homegrown IT company's birthplace. Former Wipro Chairman and philanthropist Azim Premji's father, Mohamed Hasham Premji, established his company - Western India Products Limited - in 1945, which was later abbreviated to Wipro. It started off as a vegetable and refined oils manufacturer and was developed into a new-age IT company.
Out of the 75 years of existence, the Indian IT company was led by the Azim Premji Foundation founder for 53 years. Premji (Azim) took over the vanaspati business at the age of 21.
The 66-year-old ledger shared by the former NASSCOM Chairman was created on April 1, 1956, to maintain the list of first-set of employees who were enrolled for the Provident fund scheme at the Amalner plant.
It also kept a record of employees who joined the company on April 1, 1947, months before the country got its independence. The oldest employee (NP Vasia) on the list would be 118-year-old now, and the youngest (SM Shah) would be 32 years of age.
In three hours, the post got nearly 40 retweets, and more than 800 likes.

Some users even suggested Azimji to try an NFT (non-fungible tokens) of these items.
