Rihanna gives a classy response to trolls targeting her ‘lazy’ Jamnagar performance

What’s the best way to deal with naysayers? Royally ignore their existence! That’s how pop diva Rihanna responded to detractors who poked fun at her seemingly lacklustre performance at the pre-wedding festivities of Reliance Industries scion Anant Ambani and his fiancee Radhika Merchant.

On the first day of the three-day festivities, the ‘Diamonds’ hitmaker regaled the audience at Jamnagar with a live performance of some of her evergreen chartbusters such as ‘Diamonds’, ‘Work’, ‘Don’t Stop The Music’, etc. The diva was reportedly paid a staggering Rs 74 crore by the Ambanis.

However, the diva came under heavy criticism for being allegedly low-energy during her performance. Rihanna was trolled for being lazy. Many fans of Beyonce, who also performed at the sangeet function of Isha Ambani in 2018, were flabbergasted to learn, that the singer was paid nearly twice the amount.

Rihanna Reacts To Trolling

The singing sensation appeared supremely unbothered by the criticism. Taking to Instagram, she shared a bold statement on the social media handle of her luxury lingerie brand Fenty. “badgalriri's had Savage on rotation since Day 1,” she wrote.


Rihanna is currently on a sabbatical from making music. Entrepreneurial pursuits such as the luxury brand Fenty made her the richest female musician in 2021.

The three-day pre-wedding festivities came to an end on March 4. The event, which was held at Jamnagar, Gujarat, was attended by the who’s who of the entertainment and business sectors. Guestlist included Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, Deepika Padukone & Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman and Aamir Khan, etc.
