Rhea Chakraborty opens up about the difficult phase
Talking to a media portal, Rhea revealed that it took many therapy sessions to let go of her dream, which is acting, as she talked about the emotional toll of being away from her acting career. She had worked hard for over ten years to become an actress. She told Hindustan Times that it was very painful for her to stop doing what she loved. This was especially tough when she was not getting any work at all. Rhea had to step away from acting, and that was really hard for her.
She said the phase when no one wanted to collaborate with her was deeply distressing and left her emotionally exhausted. She admitted that, in many ways, she was not ready to return immediately after everything that had happened, whether emotionally, mentally or even physically.
Rhea said that when Family Business was first offered to her, she was not sure about it. She had stopped acting for a while, so she said no at first. Then the director, Hansal Mehta and the people who wrote the show told her to think about it again. They said she did not have to worry about showing people what she could do.
Throughout this difficult phase, Rhea said her friends and family became her biggest strength. She grew emotional while recalling how her female friends stood by her despite facing consequences themselves. She specifically mentioned singer-actor Shibani Dandekar, whom she described as being like a sister. Rhea revealed that Shibani lost brand work for publicly supporting her, something she only found out later. According to Rhea, this support helped restore her faith in people during a time when she also witnessed the harshest side of humanity.
Despite everything she has been through, Rhea says she has not given up on love. She shared that therapy played a crucial role in saving her and helping her heal. The actor said she consciously chose not to become bitter and still believes in the power of love. For Rhea, love remains a force that brings hope, strength and meaning, both in life and in her long-awaited comeback.
