Revving it up! When billionaire Yohan Poonawalla showed off his 1956 Mercedes in Mumbai

Yohan Poonawalla loves vintage cars and so it comes as no surprise that he decided to rev it up. He took one of his prized possessions to a Mumbai car rally where other enthusiasts meet up, show off their four-wheeled beauties and discuss all things cars.

The billionaire industrialist brought his 1956 Mercedes Benz SL Roadster to the rally held at Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Race Course last week. “The best part is the joy people get in viewing these cars, especially at these rallies, since they have genuine car enthusiasts here,” Poonawalla said.

And his Mercedes certainly drew several admirers, given the way it was restored and maintained. “I am humbled that people look up to our vintage car collection. The best compliment has to be on the maintenance of the car, something which I look into personally. I always believe that the best work is the work we do ourselves and same goes for car maintenance.”
