With a menu that has a variety of cuisine options such as Indian, Oriental, Italian and Mexican, Vedge celebrates vegetarian fare. “The idea is to create a space for trendy vegetarian cuisine with global influences,” says Aditya Sawant, Founder & CEO, Bombay Hospitality, the owners.

The Persian tiles and industrial-looking walls with the open-floor plan give the restaurant an uber-chic look. We started with the Roasted Tomato Tortilla Soup (Rs 140) was rich and creamy with subtle, yet fragrant flavours. Next on the table was Caesar Salad (Rs 235) which was refreshing with crunchy lettuce and a well-balanced dressing that had a bite of garlic.

From among the appetizers we tasted, Kung Pao Potato (Rs 275) and Cottage Cheese Money Bags (Rs 225) stood out for their flavours and presentation. The Hakkao-style steam dumplings (Rs 255) came with a mushroom filling that was spiced just right.

The Vegetable Burmese Khowsuey (Rs 425) was creamy yet light, with a dash of caramelised onions that added a nice crunch to the dish. The Risotto Sicilian (Rs 375) was delightfully cheesy and was seasoned with the earthy flavours of pepper.

The Kulfi Sundae (Rs 225) was a bit predictable, but we recommend the Passion Fruit Cheese Cake (Rs 225) to less Indianised palates.

Vedge has an interesting line-up of beverages too. From the regular Kokum Magic (Rs 135) and Panna Roma (Rs 135), which come with a minty twist, to Blackcurrant Iced Tea (Rs 160), the drinks are fresh and much recommended in this heat.

At Vedge, the portions are generous, and their ‘Kids basket’ allows you to buy smaller portions. They also have a special menu of afternoon snacks between 12 noon-6 pm for those who wish to grab a bite at the odd hour. The restaurant is open from 11 am to 11 pm.
