Rent, travel, and fitness training: Bengaluru couple’s Rs 6 lakh monthly expense in a month shocks internet
Bengaluru couple Prakriti and Ashish's Rs 6 lakh monthly spending, including luxury rent, personal trainers, and international travel, has sparked online debate. While some were stunned, others noted their influencer lifestyle and that travel cost...

Prakriti and Ashish live in a rented apartment costing Rs 42,000 per month. Fitness is a priority, with both hiring personal trainers and Prakriti adding a month-long Pilates session, totalling Rs 40,000. Supporting this lifestyle, they spend around Rs 20,000 on groceries. Utilities, including househelp, bills, and OTT subscriptions, add up to Rs 10,000, while ordering in and dining out costs roughly Rs 13,000.
Travel was a major expense in one month: flights and hotels for two international and two domestic trips totalled Rs 3.5 lakh. They also set aside Rs 1 lakh for SIPs, and miscellaneous spends like cabs, insurance, grooming, and gifts amounted to Rs 15,000. Altogether, their total monthly expenditure came to Rs 5.90 lakh.
Internet reacts
Reddit users had mixed reactions to the couple’s expenses. Some pointed out that since Prakriti and Ashish are travel vloggers and influencers, high spending on trips makes sense, especially if some are sponsored. Others noted that the couple doesn’t spend this much every month, highlighting that the two domestic and two international trips costing Rs 3.5 lakh were a one-time expense, and without that, their monthly spend, including rent, is around Rs 1.4 lakh, which is fairly normal for Bengaluru.Several users reflected on financial balance, sharing that even while earning well, they focus on saving and living a quality life without showoff. A few expressed shock at the Rs 42,000 rent, comparing it to their own Bengaluru flats, where rents can be much lower.
