Rejoice, Nothing fans! First-ever phone (1) will launch in India on July 12

London-based consumer tech company Nothing announced on Wednesday that it will unveil its first smartphone, phone (1), next month.

As part of its Nothing (event): Return To Instinct, the brand will reveal the first look of the highly-anticipated smartphone on July 12 at 8:30 pm (IST).

The event will be live-streamed from London. People can catch the event live on its website after getting signed up for the same.



"It is our first smartphone and our most important product. The real start of Nothing's journey. To make tech fun again. And an invitation to unlearn everything the industry has taught us," the company said in a statement.

Some media reports suggest that the smartphone will be priced in the range of 500 euros (approximately Rs 42,000). With this price range, it may not be Nothing's flagship device but is a step ahead in the right direction.

"Undo. Unfollow. And unlearn everything the industry has taught you. It changes now. With phone (1)," the statement added.

As far as the design is concerned, it may replicate Nothing ear's transparent design. It may come with wireless charging support.

This will be the second device from the Nothing ecosystem, after Nothing ear (1).

In March, Pei had confirmed plans to launch its first smartphone.

As per a recent report, the upcoming smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon mobile platform. It is said to be the company's first smartphone and a second device in the overall product ecosystem of the brand.

The device may come preinstalled with the Nothing OS. The device will be treated with three years of OS upgrades and four years of security updates.
