Recipe: This Independence Day, give an Indian twist to an Italian dessert
Planning to spend Independence Day at home with a India- theme movie marathon? If yes (or no), then add some more flavour to your holiday with this Indian take on a classic Italian dessert.

Flavours of khus, vanilla and saffron give a modern twist to this humble panna cotta. And, it looks as good as it tastes!

The masterchefs at Vivanta by Taj in Dwarka, New Delhi are creating a special I-Day menu with a range of tri-coloured offering. But, in case you can't join them for the celebration, here's their recipe to try at home:

Ingredients
Heavy Cream: 300 ml
Breakfast sugar: 35 gm
Gelatin: 5 gm
Khus: 10 ml

Saffron: 50 gm
Vanilla: 5 ml



Method
- Soak gelatin in cold water.
- Boil cream and sugar in a pan. Then add the soaked gelatin and mix till it cools slightly. Strain.

- Divide the mixture into three equal parts.
- Add khus to one portion, vanilla to second and saffron to the third.
- In a glass, first gently pour the khus mix and allow it to set.
- Then pour the vanilla mixture and allow it to set.

- Finally pour the saffron mix and let it set.
- Serve chilled!
