Real Kashmir, first from the Valley, makes it to I-League top division
For a team founded in 2016, winning the I-League second division was something unexpected.

A few days ago, Shamim Meraj, chairman of the club, was visiting Mumbai. He spoke to ETPanache on the phone about the team, its progress and aspirations.
“I don’t want it to be a fairytale because they end,” Meraj said.

“The whole idea is now to put together a team for I-League, which can perform on the field with more local players. The qualification is over, this was a project for us to be as away from relegation as possible. We want 5-6 local players in the starting 11. It is a huge task to build a team, it involves big finance, sponsors, help...”
