"There is a new book which was launched and the name of the book grabbed my attention. The name of the book is Richer, Wiser, Happier: How the World's Greatest Investors Win in Markets and Life by William Green. Not one but a lot of learning. It gives insights into the lives of the great investors, their conversations, their mindsets, their attributes," he says.
The top three learnings for Chawla were, "A lot of people say we made money through shortening stocks whereas here it was stated that why would anybody short a stock. Maximum they can earn is 100 per cent whereas when you sit patiently you can have multiple multi-baggers like five times or 10 times of the amount you have invested and compounding actually works when you are going long. That's why the greatest investors always talk about value investing and how long term is derived by staying in the stocks. You don't have to be in alignment with everybody, you have to be in alignment with your objectives, your goals and your mindset. It is okay to be different from others. Rather than depending on how others are judging you, everybody should have their inner scorecards. So, what matters is your inner score cards whether you are on the right track or not. Stop worrying about others."
Chawla reads for at least 30 minutes a day that he has dedicated. "I really enjoy reading but because of my packed schedule and other things, the minimum is 30 minutes," he says.
Reading really helps because it is his ME time. It really empowers him with thoughts about great leaders. "It is very insightful, relaxing and it opens your mindset so totally, it keeps you relaxing and calm. You also feel very good about yourself that you are learning something new because as entrepreneurs and as CEOs, you always telling people what to do. There is not much time that you have been told what to do so these books are really insightful and helpful," he says.
Chawla is a physical book guy because he likes to mark things that he really likes so that he refers back to the books later on.

"I am somehow not that digital tech-savvy. I still would like to hold the books in my hands, turn the pages. It is very relaxing that I have got a book in my hand and underlining things which are important is also good," he says.
