Ray Quinn and wife Emily reveal stillbirth of son Rio in emotional Instagram post

Former Dancing on Ice Ray winner Quinn and his wife Emily have shared the news that their son, Rio, was stillborn on August 20, 2026. The couple announced the loss in a joint Instagram post, describing their ‘indescribable’ feelings.

On the Insta post, the couple shared the news on October 12. They revealed that Rio was born sleeping on August 20, 2026. “Our beautiful boy, born Sleeping,” they wrote in the post, which included a tribute to their son.

“No words will ever be enough, just a lot of indescribable feelings,” they added. “Heaven gained the most beautiful little Angel and we were overjoyed when Rio was born and we found out we had a little boy!!”

The couple said the past few weeks had been difficult but described their support for each other as their “saving grace.” They ended their tribute by referring to Rio as their “Forever our Angel.”

In the same post, Quinn and Emily thanked the medical staff who cared for them during the heartbreaking experience. They gave special thanks to several members of staff at Liverpool Women's Hospital, as well as the Honeysuckle Team, for their support.

“Although it was the most heartbreaking week of our lives you created some of the most beautiful moments and we have such special memories with our boy to keep forever,” they wrote.

Quinn and Emily also revealed that they had discussed their experience in an episode of their YouTube channel, The Quinns.

They said, “This episode was hard to film and was not a decision we took lightly,” they wrote. They said they hoped that sharing their experience would help others “who find themselves in a similar situation to us.”

Ray Quinn is a British singer, actor and television personality. He is widely known for appearing in the TV series The X Factor in 2006.He finished as runner-up in the third series of the singing competition. He later won the fourth serie s of Dancing on Ice in 2009 and returned to win the show's all-star series in 2014. Quinn has also appeared in the British soap opera Hollyoaks, where he played Jonny Baxter.
