Ravi Kishan's Mera Yaar Bajrangi announced: Actor to appear in a 'never-before-seen' role

Actor-politician Ravi Kishan is set to explore a different side of his acting career with Mera Yaar Bajrangi - Dosti Ho Toh Aisi, an upcoming devotional drama scheduled for a Diwali release next year. The film will tell the story of an ordinary man's friendship with God, placing the bond between a devotee and Bajrang Bali at its heart. Mahaveer Jain Films has announced the film's title and release date, offering a first look at a story that presents faith through the familiar idea of friendship.

What is Ravi Kishan's Mera Yaar Bajrangi about?

According to a statement, the film revolves around a common man's friendship with his God. Its first poster offers a glimpse of this unusual bond through a divine fist bump. One hand belongs to an ordinary man wearing a rudraksha and raksha sutra, while the other belongs to Bajrang Bali, adorned with a Shri Ram naam patka and rudraksha mala. A divine spark connects the two, bringing the film's tagline, 'Dosti Ho Toh Aisi', to life.

A source close to the project told IANS that the film is not simply a religious story but focuses on the relationship between a bhakt and Bhagwan. "It's just not a religious film," the source said, adding that the story asks what it would mean if Bajrang Bali himself became someone's friend in a time when people are searching for genuine companionship.

Ravi Kishan to play a common man in a new avatar

Kishan who has appeared in more than 200 films, predominantly in Bhojpuri and Hindi cinema, along with several Telugu and Kannada-language projects, will reportedly appear in a "never-before-seen" avatar as a devout common man. The project comes after his recent appearance in Mirzapur: The Film and adds another title to his extensive filmography. He has also built a career across theatrical releases and OTT productions.

When will Mera Yaar Bajrangi release?

Mahaveer Jain Films announced the film's title and release date on Tuesday, according to a statement. The devotional drama is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on Diwali next year, in 2027.
