MS Dhoni and Ravi Chawla (R) have known each other since 2011.
Ravi Chawla, MD of Gulf Oil Lubricants, is a cricket fan. In fact, his association with the sport goes beyond the field. Chawla counts MS Dhoni among his friends. The two have known each other since 2011.

“Dhoni is simple and down-to-earth. He’s passionate about everything he indulges in. He’s also a quick learner and a keen observer,” Chawla tells ETPanache.

Their interactions after Dhoni became the brand’s ambassador in 2011 have led to a lot of mutual respect. “We learnt a lot, on how Dhoni took decisions. The humour he brought into our workplace, especially while conveying his decisions, was also admirable,” Chawla says.

The team’s association with Dhoni has helped them all, he says. “Mahi is known as ‘Captain Cool’ for pushing his team to deliver their best. This is a trait I have sharpened as a result of my association with him. How to delegate responsibilities, act as an enabler to get my team to deliver and maintain focus despite competitive pressures.”
