Raveena Tandon pleads 'don't hit me' as crowd confronts her over rash driving allegations

Raveena Tandon found herself in the midst of controversy recently over allegations of assault during an incident in Mumbai's Bandra suburb. The incident, which occurred late Saturday night, involved accusations of rash driving and subsequent confrontation. According to reports circulating online and in local media, Raveena Tandon and her driver faced backlash after an alleged rash driving incident near Carter Road, close to Rizvi College.

The situation escalated when a group of locals confronted Tandon, accusing her and the driver of assaulting three women, including an elderly lady.

A video shared on social media platforms captured the chaotic scene, showing Raveena Tandon being surrounded by the group and pleading, "Please don't hit me," as she defended herself against the allegations. Witnesses claimed that the actress was under the influence of alcohol and became verbally and physically aggressive during the altercation.


Crime journalist Mohsin Shaikh shared details of the incident on X, stating that the actress's husband and film distributor, Anil Thadani, was also present at the Khar police station where the matter was being addressed.

However, amidst the uproar, conflicting reports emerged regarding the nature of the incident. Initial reports suggested that Raveena's driver was involved in a minor accident, prompting the confrontation. Police authorities have refuted claims of assault and head injuries, clarifying that no formal complaint has been filed in the case, as per ETimes.

DCP Raj Tilak Roshan provided insights into the police's perspective, stating that the altercation stemmed from a minor driving incident where no physical harm occurred. Both parties were urged to file complaints, but no formal allegations were registered.

He said: "Raveena Tandon's driver was taking a reverse to park the car, and around that time, the other party was passing by and started shouting 'gaadi chala rahe hai' (they are running over us). And nothing happened, the car has not even brushed against any of them. They started fighting and Raveena also came out and she started to fight with them."

Sources close to Raveena have said that she "was alone with children at home when the incident happened, and she only came to save her driver who was being manhandled by the other party." The incident has sparked debates online, with social media users expressing varied opinions on the matter. Raveena Tandon has yet not issued any official statement regarding the allegations and the ensuing confrontation.

The situation remains under investigation as authorities seek to gather more information and clarify the details surrounding the incident.
