Ratan Tata, Stefano Ricci's vintage love

You can usually count on cars to bring two men together, even in the case of business magnate Ratan Tata and luxury menswear head Stefano Ricci. As the latter opened his store in Mumbai last week, prominent names like Ashok and Harsha Hinduja, newly-weds Sanjay and Anu Hinduja and Gautam Singhania made it to the guest list.

But the surprise attendee was Ratan Tata, who spent time chatting with the 65-year-old Italian fashion brand founder. Jackie Manglani, President, India Operations of the brand, reveals that Tata “suggested Ricci visit beautiful natural reserves where you can still see the Bengal tiger, as Ricci has never had the chance to see one before”. Apart from a love for the big cat, the two stalwarts also bonded through the evening on their shared passion for vintage cars, Manglani says.
