Rashmika Mandanna, Vijay Deverakonda, celebrate wedding reception in Coorg. Actor’s heartfelt speech for wife steals the show

Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda tied the knot in a dreamy ceremony in the Land of Maharajas, Rajasthan, at Udaipur on February 26. Now, almost 1 and a half months after their wedding, the couple hosted their wedding reception at Rashmika’s hometown in Kodagu, aka Coorg, on April 6. The intimate event, attended by close friends and family members, was held at Serenity Convention Hall in Virajpet. This is their first time visiting the place after their marriage. Pictures and videos from the reception have now flooded the internet, leaving fans gushing.

For the Kodagu reception, Rashmika Mandanna draped herself in a traditional green and pink Kanjivaram silk saree, wrapped in the classic Coorg style. She accentuated her ethnic look with gold jewellery. Vijay Deverakonda complemented his wife in a fancy suit featuring a white shirt that he layered with a black blazer and matching trousers. Silver motifs emblazoned on the blazer doubled the actor’s charisma.



One of the stand-out moments from Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda’s Kodagu reception was when the actor delivered a heartfelt speech dedicated to Rashmika. He also expressed his love for Coorg, sharing personal anecdotes about how the place continues to live rent-free in his memory.

Vijay Deverakonda, in his speech, admitted that he has grown to be extremely ‘fond’ of Coorg, calling it a stunning destination, as per a report by India Today. The 36-year-old confessed that even before meeting his forever partner, he admired women from Kodagu, adding that he feels blessed to have married a woman from here. ‘I am very happy,’ he said.

Vijay Deverakonda further added that this was his third time coming to Coorg, recalling his very first visit when he was young. It was the time he was in school, enjoying the beauty of Coorg with his school friends as a part of their first holiday destination. Interestingly, it was much later in life that he found that he had stayed in one of Rashmika Mandanna’s friends’ houses. Vijay concluded his moving speech by stating that the next time he steps into Coorg, it would be to experience how Rashmika spent her childhood here.


Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda have been dating each other for quite some time, although they kept their relationship hush-hush. The couple worked together in films like Geetha Govindam (2018) and Dear Comrade (2019). Up next, they will be seen in director Rahul Sankrityan’s period action drama Ranabaali. While Vijay will be playing the titular role, Rashmika will be playing his wife Jayamma. Ranabaali is expected to premiere on September 11.
