Ranveer Singh quashes divorce rumours with Deepika Padukone, shows off wedding ring with pride

Rumours of trouble brewing in paradise have been rife ever since Ranveer Singh deleted all the pictures of his wedding with Deepika Padukone from his Instagram handle.

Even though the ‘Bajirao Mastani’ star’s team clarified that the star had merely archived the pictures predating 2023, the buzz of a possible divorce did not subside.


However, Singh put all rumours of an impending separation to rest. At the launch of a luxury jewellery brand launch in Mumbai, the ‘Gully Boy’ star stated that his wedding and engagement rings are his most cherished pieces of jewellery. The actor also proudly showed off his gold band at the event.

Lifting up his left hand for the cameras, the ‘Ram Leela’ star told Vogue India, “One of the rings that is very dear to me, is this one. It is my wedding ring, presented to me by my wife. The other is my platinum engagement ring, and then of course, my mother’s diamond earrings and my grandmother’s pearls!”

Singh and Padukone are currency expecting their first child. They shared the happy news with their fans in January. The baby is expected to arrive in September this year.

On the work front, Singh will step into the shoes of ‘Don’ in Farhan Akhtar’s reboot of the popular ‘Don’ franchise. Earlier, this iconic role was essayed by Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. Both he, and his wife will be featuring in the upcoming Rohit Shetty action extravaganza ‘Singham Again’. Singh will reprise the role of Inspector Sangram ‘Simmba’ Bhalerao, while Padukone will be seen as Inspector Shakthi Shetty, a fierce cop.

Often fondly referred to as ‘DeepVeer’, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are one of the most celebrated power couples of Bollywood. The pair tied the knot in a grand wedding ceremony in Italy in 2018, after dating for more than five years. The grand affair took place in Lake Como and paid tribute to their Konkani and Sindhi cultural heritages.
