Ranveer Singh preps up for Kapil Dev's biopic; cricketer may train actor

Reports also suggest that the actor will be trained by Balwinder Singh Sandhu.

Ranveer Singh, the 'Simmba' of B-town, has been ruling the headlines for weeks now. From the blockbuster success of his recently-released movie to the trailer launch of 'Gully Boy', the actor is on cloud nine.


Amid all the buzz around the release of 'Apna Time Aayega' from Zoya Akhtar's directorial, 'Gully Boy', Bollywood's Khilji is in no mood to take a break anytime soon, and has already started training for Kabir Khan's '83'. A biopic based on cricket maestro Kapil Dev, the 33-year-old actor is prepping up for it.



Singh, who will be playing Dev in the movie, will be trained by the cricketer himself who was nicknamed Haryana Hurricane. Balwinder Singh Sandhu, a member of the squad that lifted the 1983 World Cup trophy, will also help the actor hone his bowling skills for the screen.


On Sunday, the actor and director took to Instagram to share a picture from the training location. Sporting a bat, Singh shared a picture with Sandhu who can be seen training the actor. He captioned the image, 'Training begins... #83#kapildev @ranveersingh @83thefilm#balwindersinghsandhu.'

On the work front, Singh is set to appear in Karan Johar's 'Takht' with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Alia Bhatt.
