Ranbir Kapoor's 'Sanju' rakes in Rs 34.75 cr on day 1, beats Salman Khan's 'Race 3' to get biggest opening of 2018

Rajkumar Hirani's 'Sanju' set the cash registers ringing and recorded the highest opening of this year (so far). Based on actor Sanjay Dutt's life, starring Ranbir Kapoor, the film recorded the sixth highest opening day of all time and the third highest non holiday of all time in terms of NETT collections, according to box office India.

Film critic Taran Adarsh also took to Twitter to share the figures for the film.




With Rs 34.75 crore the film, which is now Ranbir Kapoor's biggest opener to day, surpassed the first day collections of Salman Khan's Eid-release 'Race 3', Deepika Padukone's 'Padmaavat' and Sonam, Kareena-starrer 'Veere Di Wedding'.
