Taking to X, the World of Ramayana revealed that Ramayana: Part One will be hitting the big screens on November 5. “On the auspicious occasion of Navratri, we celebrate the beginning of a new era. Helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, the grand saga is intended to be a two-part movie. The next segment is expected to be released during Diwali 2027. Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi play the characters of Lord Rama and Sita, respectively. Ravi Dubey is also cast in the film as Lakshmana. Kannada star Yash (best known for KGF) portrays Ravana, while Sunny Deol plays Hanuman, Rakul Preet Singh takes on the role of Surpanakha, and Lara Dutta depicts Kaikeyi. Ramayana is said to be produced with a budget of approximately Rs 4,000 crore, with music composed by Oscar-winning Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman. DNEG and Prime Focus are also part of the teams contributing to its visual effects.

In a recent appearance on Aap Ki Adalat, Yash clarified why the budget is a stupendous Rs 4,000 crore. He claimed the budget applied not just to the first part but to both films. The budget included not just the making of the movie but also the promotional activities. He also justified the budget,, saying that Indian cinema should go all out promoting itself to a global audience.

“Cinema is a soft power. All of us have to work really hard towards it. Whatever happens, we will work hard and do our job properly. If not today, then tomorrow we’ll make it happen. If we don’t, someone else will, but it should happen. That is what I feel. Both Ramayana and Toxic are attempts to position Indian cinema as global films,” he explained.
