The movie is based on the mysterious sinking of the Pakistani attack submarine deployed to assault Indian aircraft carrier.

Rana Daggubati is all set to star in an underwater war drama based on the mysterious sinking of PNS Ghazi -the Pakistani attack submarine deployed to assault Indian aircraft carrier Vikrant during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Sankalp, a debutant filmmaker from Hyderabad, recently narrated the plot to the actor, who has given his nod.

"Talks have been on for some "Talks have been on for sometime now. Rana liked the plot of the film and expressed his will ingness to be part of it. Sankalp will meet Rana for a final nar ration soon," says a source close to the actor.

The film explores the sequence of events that led to the sinking of PNS Ghazi off the Vishakapatnam coast. What caused the submarine to sink on that fateful night of Dec 4, 1971 still remains a subject of debate.

"Rana will be playing a naval officer on board the Indian submarine. The filmmakers have approached Prakash Raj to play the Indian commander. The underwater war sequence will be the highlight of the film. The filmmakers have built a submarine prototype in Hyderabad," adds the source.
