Ramachandra Guha, Vishal Bhardwaj among 60 poets, artistes who will take stage at Bengaluru Poetry Festival
The third edition of the annual festival is scheduled to be held on August 4 and 5.

The brainchild of Lakshmi and Subodh Sankar, founders of the bookstore and events space Atta Galatta, the festival director is Shinie Antony. The latter is also the co-founder of the annual Bangalore Literature Festival. "It is poetry season once more - the weather in Bengaluru is just right for cozy verse sessions. So take a deep breath and come listen to sonneteers and balladeers from simply everywhere," said Antony. Additional support for the festival this year comes from the Prabha Khaitan Foundation and the Max Mueller Bhavan.

The festival programming includes a mix of poetry performances, discussions and musical concerts. Some of the prominent artists who will be present include Bhuchung Sonam, Jayant Parmer, Ramachandra Guha, MR Kamala, Perumal Murugan, AJ Thomas, Ajoy Bose, Vishal Bhardwaj, Mamang Dai and Shabana Azmi. There will be musical performances by Kavish Seth, Usha Uthup, Neela Bhagwat and Kavish Seth. German poet-singer Ulrike Almut Sandig will perform in collaboration with Pune-based band ALIF.
The event will also conduct workshops for kids and adults. Entry to the festival is free.
