BENGALURU: The third edition of the Bengaluru Poetry Festival is scheduled to be held on August 4 and 5 at The Leela Palace. Over 60 poets, musicians and artistes will be present at the two-day event, which has previously seen performances, readings and discussions by Gulzar, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Ashok Vajpeyi, Javed Akhtar and Mame Khan.

The brainchild of Lakshmi and Subodh Sankar, founders of the bookstore and events space Atta Galatta, the festival director is Shinie Antony. The latter is also the co-founder of the annual Bangalore Literature Festival. "It is poetry season once more - the weather in Bengaluru is just right for cozy verse sessions. So take a deep breath and come listen to sonneteers and balladeers from simply everywhere," said Antony. Additional support for the festival this year comes from the Prabha Khaitan Foundation and the Max Mueller Bhavan.
