Ram And Leela OTT release date is here: When and where to watch the Tamil sci-fi romantic comedy starring Rio Raj

Tamil cinema has been mixing romance and comedy with unusual science-fiction ideas in recent films, and Ram And Leela is one such title. The film, starring Rio Raj and Vartika in the lead roles, started as a story about a man looking for a marriage partner but gradually moves into a very different kind of mystery. After its theatrical run in August, the film is now heading to an OTT platform.

Ram And Leela will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video from September 18, 2026. The digital release comes less than a month after the film reached theatres on August 21.

Rio Raj plays a man facing 50 marriage rejections

Rio Raj plays Raghuram, also known as Ram, a 30-year-old middle-class man who is struggling to find a suitable marriage partner. His search has already resulted in 50 marriage rejections, leaving him desperate to finally settle down.

Things change when Ram meets Leela, played by Vartika, during a local train journey. What begins as a chance meeting develops into a relationship, and Ram soon decides that he wants to marry her.

But Leela has one very strange condition. She tells Ram that he must not see her after 6 PM. The reason behind Leela's condition eventually becomes central to the film's science-fiction element.

The film's story takes a major turn when Ram discovers that Leela's family has a connection to an ancient alien race known as the Anunnaki.

Ramachandrran Kannan has directed and written the film, with Aakash Poojith serving as co-writer. R. Ravindran and Sudharsan have produced the project under Trident Arts and EYWA Entertainments.

Vartika makes her acting debut as the female lead opposite Rio Raj. The supporting cast includes Chetan, Munishkanth, Malavika Avinash, Deepa Venkat and Makapa Anand.

Ankit Menon has composed the music, while Mallikarjun is the cinematographer and YNC Shiva is the editor. G. Durairaj has worked as the art director, Abishek Srinivas has handled the action choreography and Arunraj V has served as the VFX head and supervisor.

The film was initially announced under the title Ram In Leela before being renamed Ram And Leela ahead of its theatrical release.
