Rakul Preet Singh’s Mumbai home is an elegant blend of contemporary luxury, warmth and conscious living. Spread across a lavish apartment in Bandra, the lavish residence combines earthy wooden interiors with pops of colour, serene corners and sweeping city views. But beyond its sophisticated décor, the home has an unexpected highlight: a terrace kitchen garden where Rakul and her husband, producer Jackky Bhagnani, grow their own vegetables using an eco-friendly approach. The apartment also features a poolside balcony and a private mini cinema.

A home created together after marriage

Rakul and Jackky recently offered a glimpse inside their Mumbai residence through a home tour shared by Asian Paints. According to the video, the couple created the space together after getting married in February 2024. The actor explained that the interiors feature plenty of wood, with colourful accents deliberately introduced to break up the dominant brown tones. Describing the atmosphere, Rakul called the home “happy, bright”, while Jackky described it as “elegant yet simple”.

Rakul also noted that the home was a space they had made together after their wedding, with Jackky adding that she had brought warmth into the residence. The couple resides in a lavish apartment located in the Puja Casa building in Bandra.

The terrace kitchen garden is the star

One of the most distinctive elements of the home is its terrace kitchen garden, which has become a shared passion for Rakul and Jackky. In a home tour shared with Pinkvilla, Jackky explained that the garden began as a sustainability experiment between the couple. They grow a variety of fresh produce, including tomatoes, pumpkins, bottle gourds, bitter gourds, chillies and leafy greens.

The couple also uses eco-friendly fertiliser made from biogas waste to nourish the plants. After consulting a biofuel company, they incorporated the method into their gardening routine, treating the process as an ongoing experiment and learning experience.

Growing everything from mint to pumpkin

As per reports by Firstpost, Jackky shared that their garden includes herbs, leafy greens, root vegetables and fruits. He recalled how growing brinjal was particularly exciting at the beginning because baingan ka bharta is a family favourite. The couple also grows their own mint, coriander, peppers, capsicum, bitter gourd, tomatoes, cucumber, lady’s fingers and pumpkin. Their approach gives the otherwise glamorous residence a distinctly earthy dimension, bringing the idea of farm-to-table living into a high-rise Mumbai setting.

Jackky’s love for homegrown produce

Jackky has previously spoken about his interest in cultivating fresh food at home. As per reports by Gulf Today, the actor-producer said he believes in eating fresh, nutrient-rich produce and encouraging people to embrace sustainable living by starting small, whether in balconies or backyards. He also spoke about the joy he gets from cultivating and harvesting his own produce, even when the quantities are modest, while recalling how his interest in healthy eating eventually developed into a personal kitchen garden.

Soft interiors and a serene bedroom

The home’s design combines classic elements with contemporary details, creating an aesthetic that feels polished without appearing overly formal. The bedroom follows a softer visual language, with light wood and muted hues creating a calm and restful atmosphere. The earthy palette continues through the residence, giving the interiors a warm and inviting character.

The terrace offers another layer of tranquillity. Surrounded by greenery and overlooking the Mumbai skyline, it has become one of Rakul’s favourite spaces to unwind. Speaking about the terrace in the Asian Paints video, Rakul revealed that she often steps outside with a coffee or drink after a tiring day, describing the experience as one where her stress seems to melt away.

A poolside balcony with a resort-like feel

The home tour also offers a glimpse of the expansive balcony, which opens towards a serene swimming pool. The poolside setting has become one of the couple’s preferred places to relax, particularly in the evenings. According to the Pinkvilla home tour, the space is used for conversations with family and friends as well as outdoor meals. With greenery, open skies and the pool creating a tranquil backdrop, the balcony brings a resort-like quality to the Mumbai apartment.

The living room doubles as a mini cinema

The residence also has a feature that adds a cinematic touch to its sophisticated interiors. The living and lounge area can be transformed into a personal theatre, complete with a premium sound system for private film screenings.
