Rajinikanth’s Coolie gets a trailer date. When and where will the makers reveal the highly-awaited trailer?

The countdown has begun for one of the most eagerly awaited Tamil films of the year—Coolie, starring none other than Rajinikanth. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Sun Pictures, this action-packed thriller is set to bring together a stellar ensemble cast, high-octane visuals, and a gripping narrative. As excitement builds, the makers have now confirmed that the trailer and audio launch event will take place on August 2 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.

Sun Pictures recently dropped a striking poster featuring the film’s powerful line-up: Rajinikanth, Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, Upendra, and Soubin Shahir. Alongside the poster, a promo was released with the caption, “Are you ready for the Super Speech?�� #CoolieUnleashed. A visual spectacle awaits on August 2nd at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium! Arangam Adhirattumey!”

Coolie- Plot and cast

Coolie is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language action thriller film[a] directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures. The film stars Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj and Shruti Haasan in lead roles, alongside Reba Monica John, Junior MGR, Kanna Ravi, Monisha Blessy and Kaali Venkat.

The film was officially announced in September 2023 under the tentative title Thalaivar 171 as Rajinikanth's 171st film as a lead actor, and the official title was announced in April 2024. The film has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography handled by Girish Gangadharan and editing by Philomin Raj.

Coolie is scheduled to release worldwide on 14 August 2025 in standard, D-Box and 4DX formats.
