Day two, the final day of Van Heusen + GQ Fashion Nights had the very reclusive Rajesh Pratap Singh showcasing his Autumn/Winter 2015 collection on Wednesday, in Mumbai.

The line combined modern with traditional in an understated design aesthetic. Singh drew inspiration from his Indian roots to craft artisanal garments. The collection was built with fabrics woven on vintage hand looms with clean lines, careful detailing and international silhouettes.

Giving the presentation a global appeal yet keeping it passionately Indian, woven stainless steel and copper wires in satin weaves, asymmetric checks and stripes in natural indigo dyed gingham and window pane checks in wool ikats were used. Draped tunics, androgynous oversized women's suits and jackets in woven metal were some of the other highlights.

Talking about his inspiration for the collection, Singh said, “I do a lot of fabric innovation and this collection is all about that. It’s about mixing classic Indian silhouettes and twisting them into a very modern contemporary voice.”
