Rajdeep Sardesai and Anupam Kher lock horns on Twitter

Veteran journalist Rajdeep Sardesai and actor Anupam Kher are the latest to be embroiled in a social media war of words. Sardesai expressed his disapproval on Twitter of the Shiv Sena's defacing of organiser Sudheendra Kulkarni ahead of the launch of the book of Pakistan's former Foreign Prime Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri.

Sardesai tweeted:

Would be good to know how many Shiv Sainiks have gone to Kashmir to show solidarity with jawans or attended funerals of soldiers.

Kher took offense to this comparison and tweeted back to Sardesai:

The heated exchange continued for a while, with Sardesai retaliating,

Insensitive? Just calling the bluff of those who claim to have a monopoly on desh-Bhakti. https://t.co/SebZsSqTyD

Kher replied:

Sardesai then tried to calm the situation but Kher didn't seem to be in a mood to grab the olive branch and said:
