Rajashree Birla's 70th birthday bash will be a family affair

It's a year of celebrations and milestone birthdays in the Birla household this year. While industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla turned 50 in June this year, his mother Rajashree will be celebrating her 70th birthday on September 29.

To bring in the big day, daughter-in-law Neerja Birla told ETPanache, that the Birla family is planning not one, but a series of get-togethers.

"We are planning a couple of celebrations actually," said Birla.

"Her (mother-in-law Rajashree) side of the family is also coming down from Kolkata and different parts of India. We've planned a family programme of sorts where somebody will be singing, somebody will be dancing and so on. It's like a family coming together and celebrating the occasion," she added.

Perhaps Rajashree Birla's singer-granddaughter, Ananya, too has an act lined up for the special day.
