Raja Shivaji premiered on the silver screens on May 1 this year and received majorly positive reviews from fans and critics alike. According to a report by the Times of India, the film is now scheduled to arrive on Netflix on June 26. An official confirmation from the OTT giant, however, is awaited.

Raja Shivaji chronicles the rise of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, tracing his transformation from a determined young boy into one of India’s most revered warrior kings. Set against the backdrop of 17th-century India, the story highlights how the values and guidance imparted by his mother, Rajmata Jijabai, laid the foundation for his vision of establishing Hindavi Swarajya.
As the narrative unfolds, Shivaji begins strengthening his position by rallying loyal supporters, securing strategic forts, and crafting innovative military tactics to safeguard his people and territory. The film also delves into his relentless struggles against powerful adversaries, including the Adil Shahi Sultanate and the Mughal Empire. One of the key highlights of the story is his historic face-off with Afzal Khan, a defining chapter that played a crucial role in shaping his legacy.
Besides Ritesih Deshmukh in the titular role, Raja Shivaji also stars his wife, actress Genelia Deshmukh as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s wife Saibai, Vidya Balan as Khadija Sultana, Sanjay Dutt as Afzal Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan as Sambhaji Shahaji Bhosale. Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Amole Gupte, Boman Irani, and Jitendra Joshi are also a part of the cast, with Salman Khan making a cameo appearance.
