Actress Radhika Apte has officially announced that she is expecting her first child with husband, music composer Benedict Taylor. The news came to light during her appearance at the BFI London Film Festival on October 16, where she showcased her baby bump while attending the screening of her latest film, Sister Midnight.

Apte delighted fans by sharing glimpses of her experience at the festival through social media, posting radiant red-carpet photos. The genre-blending comedy Sister Midnight, which premiered earlier this year at Cannes, revolves around a newlywed navigating unexpected primal instincts. For the London premiere, Apte stunned in a black off-shoulder midi dress, her hair styled elegantly in a bun, exuding grace and confidence.

Though she did not explicitly mention her pregnancy in her posts—captioning the event with “SISTER MIDNIGHT UK Premier #lff2024”—the photos said it all, triggering excitement among fans. She was met with a flood of congratulations online, with many celebrating both her film’s release and her impending motherhood. One fan commented, “Ah! Congrats on the premiere and your pregnancy! Radhika and Benedict, married since 2012, have long maintained a relatively private lifestyle, splitting their time between London and Mumbai. The two first met in 2011 during Apte’s sabbatical in London, where she explored contemporary dance.

She recently made a cameo appearance in Merry Christmas, directed by Sriram Raghavan, alongside Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi.
