However, around two hours later, she developed a severe headache. She was first taken to a local hospital before being transferred to a trauma centre in Montreal.

Doctors later confirmed that she had suffered an epidural hematoma, a type of bleeding between the skull and the brain caused by a blunt head injury. At the time, Neeson, then 56, was filming the movie Chloe in Toronto. After learning about the accident, he immediately left the film set and rushed to be by his wife's side.
