Vijay was the first person to ask Fahadh Fasil if he wanted to act
What’s Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil’s connection to the Tamil actor-turned-politician Vijay? In a chat with veteran director KS Ravikumar on Behindwoods TV, the Aavesham star said the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister was the first person to tell him he could become an actor. When he first met the actor, he was on the sets of Kadhalukku Mariyadhai, directed by Fahadha’s father. He was just 12 years old at the time.

“Vijay sir was the first person to ask me if I would become an actor,” said Fahadh. “He was planning to do Kushi (2000) while working on Kannukkul Nilavu (also directed by Fazil). I remember him sharing the idea for Kushi with me. We only talked about movies at that time,” the Pushpa actor revealed.

While today Fahadh is a box-office powerhouse in Malayalam, his career did not start with a bang. The actor’s debut film, the romantic drama Kaiyethum Doorath, which came out in 2002, was a commercial and critical disaster. After taking a seven-year break from acting, Fahadh Faasil made his return with the anthology film *Kerala Cafe* in 2009. He began attracting wider attention through his performances in the thrillers Chaappa Kurishu and Akam, both released in 2011. His work in the two films earned him the Kerala State Film Award for Second Best Actor.

Fahadh went on to establish himself as a prominent actor with a series of critically acclaimed and commercially successful films. His notable projects included the thriller 22 Female Kottayam and romantic dramas such as Diamond Necklace and Annayum Rasoolum. He also impressed audiences with the black comedy. Amen, adventure drama North 24 Kaatham, drama Artist, and romantic comedy Oru Indian Pranayakadha, all released between 2012 and 2013.

Fahadh earned national recognition for the 2019 romantic comedy drama Kumbalangi Nights and the action comedy Aavesham.

Fahadh is now set to appear in the movie Don't Trouble The Trouble. This is his first film in Telugu as a leading man. The movie will hit the theatres in October 2. He will appear in the sequels to Vikarm and Aavesham too.
