Buying a new bike usually means solo rides, photos, and maybe a quick spin with close friends. But one Pune man chose a very different way to celebrate. Instead of keeping the excitement to himself, he turned it into an open invitation for strangers to discover the city with him. His unusual Sunday offer quickly caught attention online, not because it was flashy, but because it felt refreshingly generous in a time when most interactions come with a price tag or an agenda.

Pune techie took to X and shared that once he gets his two-wheeler, he wants to use it for more than personal convenience. He announced an open invitation for people in Pune to join him every Sunday for casual day trips around the city.

According to him, the idea is simple. Anyone interested could meet up with him and spend the day exploring Pune together. The destination would not be fixed in advance. It could be a historical landmark, a famous food spot, or any other interesting place they decide on together. What made the post stand out was the spirit behind it. He said the plan would be a fun way to meet new people while also giving himself a reason to explore Pune more deeply.

He also removed the biggest practical hesitation that often comes with spontaneous outings: cost. He made it clear that participants would not need to worry about fuel expenses. He said he would cover petrol costs himself. The only thing others would need to pay for would be their own food, if the group decided to eat during the outing.

That combination of openness and simplicity struck a chord online. In an era where social interactions are increasingly organised through apps, memberships, or formal networking spaces, the offer felt old-school in the best sense. It was straightforward: spend time, see the city, and share an experience with people you may not have otherwise met.

One user suggested adding a trek to the plan. Another said they would happily join if they manage to find an opportunity in Pune after their current contract in Singapore ends in July, adding that they hoped to meet then. Someone else responded with excitement, saying they were completely up for it. Another person said they would have joined immediately if they were in Pune, but they are currently based in Bengaluru. They also shared that they had done something similar once through volunteering.
