Pulwama attack: Ajay Devgn says few engaging in hate speech, calls for restraint on social media
The actor said few stray incidents of hate speech on social media cannot be taken as the majority view.

NEW DELHI: Actor Ajay Devgn says a few stray incidents of hate speech on social media cannot be taken as the majority view as he believes the number of people trying to looking for trouble is small.
In the wake of Pulwama terror attack that claimed the lives of 40 CRPF soldiers, the Centre had issued an advisory and asked all states to ensure safety and security of the students and people from Jammu and Kashmir living in their areas after there were reports of harassment.
When asked about such incidents, Devgn told PTI, "See the whole country is not like this. There is a certain section of people who want to create problems. I think that is not fair but it spreads on social media and it feels like the whole world is dirty and the whole country is like this."
He said the people should be careful as to the kind of content and messages they are posting on social media.

Condemning the attack and advocating taking a tough stand, several Bollywood film-makers have decided not to release their films in Pakistan. Salman Khan-produced 'Notebook', Shahid Kapoor-starrer 'Kabir Singh', Sooraj Pancholi's 'Satellite Shankar', Kartik Aryan and Kriti Sanon's 'Luka Chuppi' and Diljit Dosanjh's 'Arjun Patiala' are among the several films that won't cross the border.

The All India Cine Workers Association announced a blanket ban on Pakistani artistes working in the Hindi film industry. In an official statement on Monday, the film body said that if any organisation was to insist on working with artistes from across the border, the AICWA will take strict action against them.

Mukesh and Nita Ambani's Reliance Foundation has said that it will assume full responsibility for the education and livelihood of the families of the CRPF jawans martyred in the attack.
The philanthropic arm of Reliance Industries further added that its hospital was ready to provide treatment to the injured jawans.
In a statement, it added, "We shall also deem it to be our duty to shoulder any other responsibility the government may place upon us in service to our beloved Armed Forces."

The Indian sporting fraternity condemned the "dastardly and cowardly" terror attack, with several of them coming forward to offer help.
Former cricketer Virender Sehwag offered to bear the educational expenses of children of the martyrs.
"Nothing we can do will be enough, but the least I can do is offer to take complete care of the education of the children of our brave CRPF jawans martyred in #Pulwama in my Sehwag International School @SehwagSchool , Jhajjar. Saubhagya hoga," he tweeted.

Earlier boxer Vijender Singh, who is employed with Haryana Police, also said that he would donate a month's salary. "I think we should be responsible enough to react to things in a certain way and to accept what is right and not accept what is wrong. So, social media has its own flaws. And it is not like the courts will decide; people have started to become judges of their own, which is not right," he adds.

The 49-year-old actor is currently promoting his upcoming film "Total Dhamaal".
The film also features Riteish Deshmukh as a character from Bihar while Madhuri Dixit and Anil Kapoor are playing a Gujarati couple.
There have often been cases where Bollywood has been blamed for its inaccurate portrayal of people from certain states.
Ajay Devgn Devgn, however, said the makers have tried to steer clear of offending anybody through the film.

"We have not made fun of any religion or dialect. The characters are all normal and they are funny. We are not making fun of anybody. I don't think it is a kind of film that can offend anyone.
"We are always very conscious about who will feel bad about what. So we try not to include things that might hurt people. Sometimes, unintentionally that happens but then these days nobody listens to the courts also. If they are adamant that they will not let a film work, then even if you get a favourable court order, you can do nothing about it," the actor said.
