Chopra described the process of writing 'Unfinished' as a cathartic experience.
Priyanka Chopra-Jonas has had an interesting journey to global domination. From winning the Miss World crown in 2000 to sharing screen space with global icons two decades later, it's been a path that has inspired many around the world.
Actor, singer, producer - the 38-year-old has donned many hats. And now she's adding another one to her credit, that of an author with her memoir 'Unfinished', set to hit the shelves next year.
In an exclusive interview with Bombay Times, Chopra, talking about "redefining rules", said, "As a woman in the entertainment business, it was important to not show the chinks in your armour. I just decided to put my head down and let my work speak."
Chopra says the book is sort of the 'in-between interviews' version of her life. The 'White Tiger' actress went on to credit her family for encouraging her to push the boundaries and defy the stereotypes that existed. Adding that she was "a small-town girl who had dreams and aspirations bigger than I was supposed to have."
Talking about her book, Chopra said that 'Unfinished' will show people the human side of her, and she hoped that it would help readers "understand the resilience and grace under fire that is needed to chase their dreams."

"It's sort of the 'in-between interviews' version of my life, the public version versus my real story," she said about the memoir.
Describing the process of writing it as a cathartic experience, she said it brought many memories back to the surface. Adding, "It is a vulnerable version of me that only I can explain, a curtains-down look at my life in my words."
On advice to the millions of young people who would want to follow in her footsteps, the 'Sky is Pink' star said, "You can do what you dream of. You just have to try. Add hard work, perseverance, confidence, determination and vision into the mix - and the world is yours!"
But she went on to add that it is also important to know "that it's okay to pick up, walk away, leave things unfinished, and move on to what's next if that's what your journey requires to get to the next destination. Everyone's story is different so what you focus on is what you can create for yourself."
